The Men’s Health program within Gurriny Yealamucka Health Services Social Emotional Wellbeing unit offers a number of activities throughout the year for men to participate in to support their social emotional wellbeing.

Venue: Program Building in Workshop StreetThe Yarrabah Men’s Group is a core and integral part of Gurriny Yealamucka Health Services Men’s Health program. It is regarded as the fulcrum for a number of activities conducted through the social emotional wellbeing unit and supports other programs and initiatives offered by other organisations and its networks.
Men’s Group also provides men with an opportunity to inform the Men’s Health Program of the kind of activities it should consider developing, including on the ground initiatives, to support social emotional wellbeing. This also includes offering men with an opportunity to come together to yarn and share about issues pertaining to their social emotional health and wellbeing.
The Men’s Health Program also work with other program areas within Gurriny Yealamucka Health Services Aboriginal Corporation such as Health Promotion, Nutrition worker, Healthy Lifestyle Officer and Clinic to offer specific support activities, health education and awareness to men in Yarrabah.
Men’s Health Program networks with other community based organisations such as Gindaja, Yarrabah Aboriginal Shire Council, other government and non-government organisations to discuss opportunities for participation in or development of activities and initiatives that will support social emotional wellbeing of individuals and families within Yarrabah.
